Home > Research Results > Ontological Analysis

For over a decade now, NEMO members have been investigating conceptual modeling languages and frameworks from the perspective of ontological analysis. In particular, several enterprise architecture modeling languages and frameworks have been analyzed using as a basis the Unified  Foundational Ontology (UFO) or core ontologies based on UFO, such as, UFO-S and UFO-L. Languages and frameworks analyzed include ArchiMate, ARIS EPCs, BPMN, DoDAF/MODAF and RM-ODP.

Several architectural domains  have been investigated such as the domains of services, contracts, risk, capabilities, goals, strategic planning and organizational structures (actors, roles).
